The tribal joint venture seeking to open a third casino in Connecticut has eliminated one proposed location — East Windsor — and will enter a second round of negotiations with the three remaining towns, it was announced Wednesday.
The Mohegans and Mashantucket Pequots said they will concentrate on four sites in East Hartford, Hartford and Windsor Locks. The tribes, which operate the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos, did not give a deadline for a final decision or say whether they will return to the legislature this year for final approvals, which now appears unlikely.
"East Windsor's clear desire to host this facility made this decision really difficult," Kevin Brown, chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council, said. ...
