Tribes Urge Towns To Move Forward On Casinos

The joint tribal venture that is seeking to build a casino in the Interstate 91 corridor called on municipal leaders Tuesday to move forward with their towns’ processes to approve a proposal.

The entity, MMCT, also pledged to cover the cost of referendums for towns that hold them.

“At this point we want you to know that we’ve received and are continuing to review a proposal from your municipality,” read a letter sent by the state’s two tribes. “We are now asking that you move forward with getting approval from your town and town leaders.”
